July 2009 Newsletter

October 30, 2009
--THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN’T SEEN THE GUILD LATELY, R E A L L Y MUST COME BY AND TAKE A GOOD LOOK…Our new landlord, the Daphne Utility Board, has honestly stepped up to the plate and gotten us all spiffed up! A huge THANK YOU goes out to Rob McElroy and Danny Lyndell who have made so many repairs and upgrades possible.
We also want to be sure and thank our good friends with the Daphne Utility Board, Andrew Bolen and Donald Trott, among others, for all of the work they have done. We now have a sturdy, attractive (non-leaky) roof, brand new (non-drippy) faucets, and with the new lighting, we can actually see the little dust bunnies we didn’t know lived with us. Last but not least, you can’t miss our entire facility being all one color and set off by the extensive, neat and tidy landscaping!
--As proud owners, we may also brag about our newly enhanced, fine art library. THE LUCY FINE LIBRARY is a work in progress right now, but our new Librarian, Mary McBride, is working diligently cataloging all of our wonderful art books and journals. Thanks to Gus and Lynn Rios, we will soon be the proud owners of two large book cases to add to our wonderful armoires housing all of our books.
--NOVEMBER 19TH, 2009, is the date to remember for our next big fundraiser. We are having it at the Blue Gill Restaurant on the causeway, and it promises to be
THE event of the year. With the music provided by EL CANTADOR, there will be a silent and a live auction; the auction items are awesome.
The $10 tickets may be obtained in advance or at the door. For advance tickets, please contact us here at BRAG or call Valley O’Neal, 391-5551, directly.
We are asking for volunteers to help collect money at the door, set up auction tables, collect the winning bid $, etc. As much fun as attending this event will be, being a part of it all will really enhance the experience. Please come on out, have a great time and personally help support our Guild.
I look forward to seeing you there,
Marion
