Judge
Brian Jekel
Born in 1951 and
raised in the upper Midwest, Brian Jekel remembers spending the long winter
weekends drawing. In 1969 he completed
his study of Sports Medicine and Physical Education and went on to teach in
Australia.
It wasn’t until he was 27 that he realized his
real calling was to be an artist, and so Brian relocated to Denver to attend
the Rocky Mt. School of Art in 1977, where he received his training under the
master anatomy and figure drawing teacher, Phil Steele. Since 1978 Brain has pursued figurative and
landscape painting as his passion and specialty.
In 1981, he moved to Pensacola to teach,
illustrate, paint and share his knowledge and love for his craft with college
students from around the world. His
objective is simple:
…to honor God in all
that he creates.
