How
to Paint Like You . . . Only Better! (Oil Paint) with Ted Burn (8 Weeks)
9 am to Noon Every painter has a potential style that is
unique to oneself, and
when developed properly, could produce some
spectacular work. Projects will be
created to help each artist develop his/her own style while learning some
techniques and tools that will help to improve the work… copy the art of
another artist to learn what he/she was thinking about when creating
that particular piece... paint from our
own photographs and learn how to turn an average shot into a much better
painting… paint from still life while learning how to build a dramatic and
more simple still life (sometimes very simple things can make a really good
painting). Learn how to use color to add
depth, how to use edges to lead a viewer around
a painting, and how to use space
to create drama. That's a lot to teach (and learn) in an 8-week course. I
plan to continue the class in 8-week segments on a regular basis. We will definitely have fun, and we will
"all" learn together. Yes, the teacher learns stuff, too. Some
experience recommended.
1 to 4 pm Brush
Strokes – Loose or Not! with Benita McNider

render,

oil/acrylic paints to get started. The
first week will offer an interactive demonstration to loosen you up and inspire
you – every painting is a learning experience.
Have fun with it! Your instructor will be there to help you enjoy your
8-week journey.

choice OR experiment with a new one…to tempt your palette with an assortment
of mediums, each week the instructor will provide a “demo” in one of the
following: graphite pencil, charcoal,
conte’ crayon, pen & ink, pastel, watercolor or acrylic. Bring your project/subject & medium, and
the instructor will gladly assist you.

Don Andrews’ Watercolor Workshop
January 16 – 20, 2012
Painting Figures In The Landscape
Many landscape
paintings benefit from the vitality that figures provide; yet so often we shy
away from painting them. You’ll be surprised how quickly you can
become adept at
introducing
lively, believable figures in your landscapes once you learn how to perfect
your
approach.
Students will explore a variety of ways to use the human form as an
accent,
point of interest or dominant character in any landscape painting. 9 am – Noon & 1 – 4 pm
daily. Members $300 & Members-To-Be, $330, which
includes a membership.
Call 621-0659 for more information & enrollment.
