If you love to paint in oil or acrylic and want to advance your technical skills, this workshop is for you. We will work from still lifes, photos, drawings and discuss the merits and limitations of each. The fundamentals of fine art will be central to the course: composition, value, drawing and color theory.
"The Art of Seeing Light (& How to Use It)" with Ron Thomson
The class will begin with drawing exercises that quickly focus the attention on aspects of light and form that are pivotal it the success of the painting that follows. For beginners, Ron introduces the foundations of representational painting in a way that allows more freedom for artists with experience. The workshop is a hands on exploration of line, value, edge quality, color mixing and balance of color temperature and brushwork.
