MARCH



March 8 - March 10
9 AM-3 PM

“Moberg Painting” with Randy Moberg

If you love to paint in oil or acrylic and want to advance your technical skills, this workshop is for you. We will work from still lifes, photos, drawings and discuss the merits and limitations of each. The fundamentals of fine art will be central to the course: composition, value, drawing and color theory.

Intermediate & advanced levels. $285 Members, $315 Non-members*.

9 AM-4 PM

 "The Art of Seeing Light (& How to Use It)"  with Ron Thomson

The class will begin with drawing exercises that quickly focus the attention on aspects of light and form that are pivotal it the success of the painting that follows.  For beginners, Ron introduces the foundations of representational painting in a way that allows more freedom for artists with experience.  The workshop is a hands on exploration of line, value, edge quality, color mixing and balance of color temperature and brushwork.  There will be demonstrations of the concepts you will be asked to employ at every stage.

All levels.  Supply list available  $175 Members  $205 Non-members*

APRIL

April 4 - April 8

"Sumi-e, The Art of Chinese brush Strokes" with Maria Papp

Step by step, from beginning to end, how to "write a painting."  Learn how to paint with natrual hair brushes on rice paper with sumi and Chinese watercolor while learning the history of this fascinating art.
Beginners to Intermediate  $150 Members, $180 Non-members*


April 12-`April 14                   
9AM to 1 PM

 “Portrait Impressions in Oil” Workshop with Nina Fritz.

Live model each day. Daily demos by Nina;  $10 daily fee to attend the demo if not taking the workshop.

  "Beginning Stained Glass Art" with Betsy Clark 

 In this introduction to sstained glass, you will beccome familiar with the different  types of glass used, the color, texture, 
reflection, the ease/or not of cutting different types of glass.

April 19 - April 22
9AM-Noon

 “Beginning Acrylics” with Jane Sellier

No previous painting experience required. Step-by-step demonstrations will show you how easy it is to paint. Can’t draw? This is the class for you! Jane’s philosophy is to “have fun, be experimental and share it with others.”

Beginner level. Supply list available. $80 Members, $110 Non-members*.



April 26 - April 27
9 AM-4 PM

 “Abstract Landscapes with Mixed Media” with Faye Earnest

After sketching landscapes from the natural world or from original photos, the artist will begin an abstraction process. The landscapes will be broken down into basic art elements and principles of design. Using varied mixed media and acrylic paint, the artist will create a unique, one-of-a-kind view of the organic world.

Intermediate level. Supply list available. $150 Members, $180 Non-members*.

May 4 - May 5
11 AM to  4 PM  (Bring a Bag Lunch)

"Costumed Model Figure/Portrait Workshop" (Live) in Oils with Benita H. McNider

1 model, three hours each day.
Intermediate to Advanced, (Includes model fee)  $135 Members, $165 Non-members*
